about us

My family had been begging my grandma Nettie to write down her stories for years. Maybe even decades.

But she's never gotten around to doing it.

So one day I ask her about it, and she tells me, "I've tried writing down my stories several times, but it's just too tedious!"

And that's when I decide to take matters into my own hands.

You see, my grandma Nettie is 97 years old, and whether we like it or not, she's going to be gone one day.

And the last thing we want is for her stories and memories from the past 97 years to go along with her.

So I buy a microphone, drive 30 minutes up the road, and spend an afternoon interviewing my grandmother about her life - where she was born, what it was like growing up during the Great Depression, her memories of World War II, and so much more.

These are stories that my family will cherish forever. Stories that I'll share with my own children and grandchildren one day.

And at that moment I realize that if these stories mean so much to me and my family, the same is probably true for every other family out there.

So I teamed up with my partner, Wesley, to create Tales — to give families like yours an effortless way to capture the stories and memories that are most important to you.

We know how hard it is capture the important stuff.

It takes planning. It takes time. And it takes knowing which questions to ask.

But with Tales, you just tell us who to talk to and what we should talk to them about, and we'll handle the rest.

Everyone has a story to tell, and it's our mission at Tales to capture every one of those stories before they fade.
